§ 7-86. Transferring existing certificate and issuing new certificates of burial rights generally.

  • All certificates conveying burial rights in the cemeteries prior to May 23, 1955, may be transferred or new certificates provided for in this chapter may be issued to persons having a lawful right to use burial spaces or lots for interment purposes in the cemeteries, upon application to and approval by the Director and the payment to the City of a transfer fee as set forth in Appendix A to this Code. The Director shall approve such transfers or issue such certificates when satisfied that such transferees are persons having the right under this chapter to acquire burial rights in cemeteries in which such rights are to be transferred or the persons representing themselves as the successors to the burial rights theretofore granted are all the lawful successors to such rights as provided in this chapter. No such certificate shall be transferred or issued except in the names of all such successors.
