§ 2-375. Emergency management—generally.
In order to enable the City to respond effectively to emergencies, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services shall be responsible for the following functions:
(1)
Planning, preparing for and mitigating emergencies;
(2)
Identifying and protecting critical infrastructure and key assets;
(3)
Educating the public on emergency preparedness;
(4)
Coordinating the City's response to and recovery from emergencies;
(5)
Providing responders with information and resources; and
(6)
Obtaining funding and other aid to ensure that the City is prepared to respond to and is able to recover from emergencies.
