The Assessor shall have the general management and control of the assessment of real
estate for taxation. To assist in the performance of the Assessor's duties, the Assessor
shall appoint a Deputy Assessor and such appraisers, clerks and other employees as
shall be authorized by the City Council who shall be members of the classified service
and shall be appointed and removed subject to the City's personnel rules and regulations.
The Deputy Assessor, appraisers, clerks and other employees shall be responsible to
the Assessor for the efficient performance of duties assigned to them by the Assessor.
