§ 12-122. Criminal and traffic court costs—Fee for electronic summons system.

A fee as set forth in Appendix A to this Code shall be assessed by the City in each criminal or traffic case in the General District Court of the City of Richmond, the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court of the City of Richmond, and the Circuit Court of the City of Richmond in which the defendant is charged with a violation of any statute or ordinance. The assessment shall be collected by the clerk of the court in which the action is filed, remitted to the Director of Finance, and held by the Director of Finance subject to disbursement by the City Council to the Department of Police to fund software, hardware, and associated equipment costs for the implementation and maintenance of an electronic summons system.
